Christophe Bonnal

Christophe Bonnal is a senior Expert in space systems, active in the research fields of Space Transportation since 1983 and Space Debris since 1987. He worked for 10 years at ArianeGroup, 30 years in the CNES Launcher Directorate followed by the Strategy Directorate and has been working at MaiaSpace for 2 years. In the field of Space Sustainability, Christophe has co-authored the French Space Debris Standard (1998) and the current French Space Operations Act. Christophe was also responsible for co-authoring the IADC Guidelines in 1992, the European Code of Conduct in 2005, and ISO 24113 in 2008; he is still Principal Investigator for ISO 20893 related to Launch Vehicles. More recently, he co-authored the European Zero Debris booklet. Christophe is also Chairman of the IAA Space Debris Committee, and Chairman of the IAF-IAA-IISL STM Committee. He is the President and Head of Program Committee for EUCASS (European Conference for AeroSpace Science). Christophe is author of 282 publications, including 86 in peer-reviewed journals, and holds 13 patents and Soleau. He is involved in numerous advisory activities (ESA, ERC, ESA-BIC,...), and has earned several awards, including the IAASS Joseph Loftus Space Sustainability Award 2021. (Image: © MaiaSpace)
