Giovanni Medici is an Indra Deimos employee (Atmospheric Flight Competence Centre) since 2015, is now head of Atmospheric Flight Competence Centre within the Mission Engineering Business Unit. His technical background roots in Aerodynamics and Flight Mechanics. Working as Senior Project Engineer he is experienced in aerodynamics and flying qualities, specialized in CFD, over a wide range a wide range of flight regimes from hypersonic to subsonic. He has relevant professional experience in the design, development and verification of re-entry vehicles, and other atmospheric flying vehicles, in engineering studies and programs, such as Space Rider, Reusable Payload Fairings, DRACO, DYNAST, EFESTO, EFESTO2, EARS, ICARUS, REFAIR, RESOLVE, RETALT, REVLANSYS, ROCKHB, RRTB, SALTO, UAVs, and VLEO. He is project manager of the Indra Deimos team working in H2020 and Horizon Europe projects, related to the study innovative re-entry strategies for space vehicles.
