Prof. Martin Tajmar holds the Chair for Space Systems the director of the Institute of Aerospace Engineering. After research stays at NASA JPL and ESA ESTEC, the Austrian Institute of Technology, associate professor at KAIST, he joined TUD in 2012. He is a world-leading expert in space propulsion. He has been PI/Co-PI of numerous projects with funding from EU, DFG, DLR, NASA, ESA, US Air Force and others. He has authored more than 130 journal papers (incl. Applied Physics Letters, Physical Review B, Space Science Review), 270 conference papers and 27 patents. His Google-Scholar h-Index is 29. His work led to several successful start-ups, such as Morpheus Space (currently the largest space company in Saxony). Awards include several best paper awards, innovation prizes and the prize for the best start-up in Saxony in 2020. He is teaching space systems, space propulsion as well as electric propulsion and advanced concepts at TUD and at the Vienna University of Technology. He supervised more than 200 Master students and 30 PhD students (14 of them finished).
