Nicole Viola is a Full Professor of Aerospace Systems at Politecnico di Torino. Her research expertise focuses on the development of methodologies for high-speed vehicle design, covering applications from high-speed civil aircraft to reusable access-to-space systems and re-entry vehicles, as well as methods for estimating greenhouse gas and pollutant emissions at the conceptual design stage. She is the author of more than 150 scientific publications indexed in Scopus and has supervised over 20 PhD candidates. Owing to her extensive experience in coordinating European-funded research projects, including the H2020 MOREandLESS, MDO and REgulations for Low-boom and Environmentally Sustainable Supersonic aviation and the H2020 STRATOFLY, Stratospheric Flying Opportunities for High-Speed Propulsion Concepts, she will also provide valuable support to the training of the PhD candidates.
