CERFACS (Centre Européen de Recherche et de Formation Avancée en Calcul Scientifique) is a private research organization specializing in advanced numerical simulation and algorithmic solutions for large-scale scientific and industrial challenges.

Supported by seven shareholders (AIRBUS, Météo-France, EDF, CNES, SAFRAN, ONERA, and TOTAL), it operates with access to powerful computing resources, including Euro-HPC JU supercomputers. Its teams cover diverse fields such as climatology, fluid mechanics, and parallel algorithms. Renowned internationally for expertise in combustion and aerospace propulsion, the CFD team develops high-fidelity software for turbulent, unsteady, and reacting flows, widely used in academia and industry for aerospace, safety, and pollution studies.

CERFACS was among the first institutes to simulate complex turbomachinery stages using Large-Eddy Simulations (LES). Actively engaged in over 30 French national and 15 European projects, CERFACS stands as a leader in high-performance scientific computing and applied research.
